| Phippsy first picked up a planer under the watchful eye of Wayne Lynch and Greg Brown in the infamous Gash factory. Am outstanding surfer with a strong competitive career, Phippsy turned his hand to shaping so that he could maximise his time in the water, not waiting to surf a heat. | |

| Phippsy resides half-yearly in France and the other half in his home town of Point Lonsdale in Victoria. This enables him to get the best surf in each location and makes his shapes available to travelling professionals, looking for specialist boards in either location. | |
